IrisBG system requirements
The IrisBG software will run on all recent versions of Windows. It can be installed on a standalone PC or in a multi-user environment. The database can be hosted on a database server in your local network or on a cloud database service.
Workstations
Desktop and tablet computer
IrisBG is a Windows desktop application, installed on every computer that needs it.
- MS Windows 7 or later (32 or 64 bit), and can also be used on Citrix
- 100 Mb available memory and 200 Mb disk space
- For Reports: MS Office or another product with support for Excel and Word files
- Internet connection
Database
Where your database lives
IrisBG can use a locally hosted database or a cloud database. The choice is yours, and it can change later.
Locally hosted database
- MS SQL Server in a local network for multi-user environments
- MS SQL Server Express in a local network for smaller databases and few users
- MS SQL Server Express on a local computer for a single user

Cloud hosted database
- We offer a hosting service with all database management taken care of
- An internet broadband connection with a good line quality and speed is necessary

Optional modules
Maps and web server
Mapping and the web solutions have requirements of their own, on top of the desktop and database above.
Maps
- The IrisBG Map module requires an internet connection to access a map provider like Google, or online map services such as ArcGIS/ArcGIS Online with support for WMS/WMTS
- We offer free web map hosting for one custom map
- Maps can also be hosted on a WMS or WMTS (ArcGIS) server in your local network
Web server
- Data is uploaded from IrisBG to an internal database on the web server
- For security reasons there is no connection from the web server to your IrisBG database
- Our hosting service includes installation of new versions, server upgrades, troubleshooting and server management
